Speaker(s)

Mike Pavlak, Zend Solutions

Topic(s) "PHP on IBM i"

Please join us as PMSA welcomes the New Year with a special training session on PHP on the IBM i! Mr. Mike Pavlak of Zend Solutions will present in two parts. Each topic will be approximately 1-1.5 hours (depending on the number of questions).

1. PHP on IBM i: Getting Started
PHP has become a significant component of the IBM i development portfolio. This session introduces the steps to get going with PHP in the typical IBM i environment. Topics include software installation, configuration, troubleshooting and basic PHP script creation. Come see how to enable your DB2 content quickly and easily using the world’s most popular web scripting language.

2. PHP101 for IBM i:
Come see what PHP code looks like on IBM i. This session builds upon the concepts explored in the ‘Getting Started’ session. Topics include everything from Hello World on through a database listing and i5 Program call. This is a must see session for anyone looking to explore options beyond just RPG or Net.Data.

Speaker(s):

Mike Pavlak has been working with IBM midrange solutions since 1992 and IBM Mainframes before that. After years of developing applications using RPG, CL and PHP, he managed IT development and IT for power protection manufacturer Tripp Lite. Recently, Mike has joined Zend as a solutions consultant working with the IBM i sales team and spreading the news about Zend solutions in the IBM midrange arena. Mike lives in suburban Chicago with his wife, five kids, a dog, three cats, a leopard-spotted gecko, Russian tortoise, two rabbits, half a dozen fish and dwarf hamster.
