Speaker(s)

Doug Mack, IBM Corporation

Topic(s) IBM i 7.1 (with a nod to version 6 too!): Focus on DB2 for i

Please join us as we welcome Doug Mack to our last meeting before PMSA's Summer hiatus!

Earlier this month IBM announced a new version of its IBM i (a.k.a., i5/OS, OS/400) operating system, including its core element, DB2 for i. DB2 for i 7.1 includes significant new XML integration, an improved SQL Query Engine, and other enhancements that provide performance, programmer productivity, and ease of use benefits. Doug will give us a rundown of the 7.1 announcements - example: how about XML stored in DB2, queried/added/changed/deleted by SQL? Come and learn more!

Speaker(s):

Doug Mack is a DB2 and Business Intelligence Offerings Manager in IBM's Power Systems Marketing organization. Doug's twenty-nine year career with IBM spans many roles, including product development, technical sales support, and Business Intelligence Sales Specialist. Doug is a featured speaker at User Group conferences and meetings, IBM Technical Conferences and Executive Briefings.
